TL;DR — The Short Version

SlamDoor gives you information. You decide what to do with it. We're not liable for decisions you make about your device.

Use the tool responsibly. Don't misuse it. That's the whole thing, really.

What SlamDoor is (and isn't)

SlamDoor is an informational tool. We maintain a database of known pre-installed Android apps, organized by phone brand, and give you our assessment of each one: Keep, Remove, or You Pick.

Our assessments are based on research into app behavior, privacy track records, redundancy, and security risk. They are our opinion, informed by publicly available information.

SlamDoor is not: a device diagnostic tool, a professional security audit, a guarantee that any specific app is safe or unsafe, or a substitute for your own judgment.

App behavior can change with updates. Our database may not reflect the very latest version of every app. Use our guidance as a starting point — not a final verdict.

Your responsibility

You're an adult making decisions about your own device. SlamDoor helps inform those decisions. The decision itself — whether to disable, uninstall, or keep any app — is yours.

No liability for device issues

If you disable or uninstall an app based on SlamDoor's guidance and it causes a problem on your device, that's on you — not us. We provide information in good faith. We can't guarantee outcomes for every device configuration, carrier setup, or app version.

SlamDoor is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We make reasonable efforts to keep our app database accurate, but we can't promise perfection.

Using SlamDoor

SlamDoor is free to use for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may:

You may not:

The AI chat assistant

The chat assistant on the scanner page is powered by an AI language model. AI can be wrong. It may misunderstand your question, give outdated information, or suggest something that doesn't apply to your specific phone model.

Use the AI assistant as a helper, not an authority. If you're uncertain about a specific app on your device, look it up independently or consult your phone manufacturer's support.

Third-party services

The breach checker uses the Have I Been Pwned API. By using that feature, you're also subject to their terms. SlamDoor isn't responsible for the accuracy or availability of their service.

Availability

SlamDoor is a free service. We don't guarantee 100% uptime. The service can go down for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We'll try to keep it running, but we don't make formal SLA commitments.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of SlamDoor after a change means you accept the updated terms. We won't make material changes without clearly noting them here.
